Influence of Nutrient-Stress Conditions on Chlorella vulgaris Biomass Production and Lipid Content

Microalgal biomass and its cellular components are used as substrates for the production of fuels. A valuable group among microalgal is lipids, which act a precursor biodiesel in transesterification process. Some methods, including creation stressful conditions, applied to increase accumulation lipids. This study aimed determine effect limited nutrient access on growth development microalga Chlorella vulgaris amount lipids stored cells. Aquaculture wastewater (AWW) was source nutrients at doses 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% 100%. The biomass, optical density, lipid content after extraction Soxhlet apparatus chlorophyll were determined. It observed that microalgae efficiently contained AWW. largest obtained AWW80 (727 ± 19.64 mg·L?1). OD680 (0.492 0.00) determined under same conditions almost five times higher AWW than synthetic medium. Under nutrient-stress ranged from 5.75% (AWW80) 11.81% (AWW20). highest cells AWW20 (206 11.33 mg?m?3).
